Three useful scales
Week shows exact productive fragments within the configured display hours. Breaks and non-working time are not productive effort. Use Show full day if work falls outside those display hours.
Month and Quarter show broader stage spans. Hatched gaps are not work. A stage spanning several dates does not consume every hour between its endpoints.
Follow a piece of work
Select a work block to inspect its resources, exact dates, prerequisites and Why this date. Dependency lines follow the selected work; the table below gives a textual project completion summary. Tab and Enter select work; Escape clears its details.
The forecast marker is calculated completion. A target is a desired date. A hard deadline is an external commitment. These are different markers because they answer different questions.
Try changes safely
Choose What If to test a proposal before applying it. Dragging expresses planning intent; the scheduler still respects availability and prerequisites. See What If, forecast explanations and Presentation Mode.
Explore horizontally
Shift + mouse wheel moves the schedule horizontally. A trackpad's horizontal gesture does the same. Ordinary vertical wheel scrolling remains page scrolling.
At a horizontal boundary, continuing the gesture loads the next or previous period while keeping the same zoom. Only one period is rendered at a time. Gesture navigation stays within the current plan's work, interruption dates, targets and hard deadlines, with about two weeks of breathing room and zoom-aligned boundaries. There is no infinite future timeline.
Week, Month, Quarter, Today and previous/next controls remain available. Those explicit controls can inspect a date outside the gesture window; horizontal extension remains bounded by the plan. Selecting work and reading Help still work as you move between periods.
