Permanent deletion
Open Settings → Reset Data as an administrator. This facility permanently deletes selected data in the current organisation only. It is not archive/restore functionality. CanYouJust cannot undo the operation.
Reset areas
- Users removes other organisation memberships and exclusive accounts, including their dependent access records. Accounts shared with another organisation, or needed by its retained historical references, survive globally. Removing a membership uses the existing session invalidation mechanism; shared users may need to sign in again.
- Team Members removes staff, assignments, working calendars and staff-specific availability. Surviving user memberships are unlinked from staff. Embedded staff allocations in retained stages are cleared; stages remain and can be reassigned.
- CanYouJust interruptions removes scheduled interruptions, floating incoming requests and assistance-request metadata, including their dependent external events. Team members and project work stages survive.
- Projects removes projects, stages, assignments, stage/project dependencies, subscriptions, linked incoming requests, forecasts, plan history and project-owned provider mappings.
- External Provider Connections removes local provider credentials, personal tokens, mappings, cached source metadata, monitoring leases and provider history. Incoming work is detached from its provider. Local projects remain. Monday.com boards, items and other remote business data are never deleted or changed by this facility.
- Incoming API Access removes clients, all rotated API credentials, task claims, source activations, retry receipts, stage notes and client-owned requests. Deleted credentials can no longer authenticate. Existing project stages survive as local work, without removed assistance-request metadata.
- Audit / Activity / History removes Organisation Activity, plan changes, forecast/committed-plan snapshots, external update history, source events, stage notes, completed assistance metadata and outbound email/delivery history. No reset activity is recorded when this area is selected. Otherwise one concise reset activity is recorded. Active stage progress/actual allocations remain business data; deleting Team Members clears their embedded staff allocations. Retry receipts remain operational duplicate-request protection until API access or Projects are reset.
- Organisation Configuration and Calendars resets email configuration and its stored credentials, display and effort defaults, company/personal calendar exceptions and recurring commitments. Settings rows are recreated with defaults. Working patterns are removed with Team Members.
Required dependent areas
Users and Team Members require CanYouJust interruptions and incoming API access. CanYouJust interruptions, Projects and Team Members require history deletion because full plan history embeds this work and its assignments. The page automatically includes required areas and explains them. The server checks these rules independently. Optional references on surviving records are detached; deleting a child does not require its parent to be deleted.
Preview and confirmation
Select areas, then choose Preview Reset. Counts come from the database, include required children, and represent rows deleted, including old settings rows replaced with defaults. Optional reference changes are described separately. No credential values appear in the preview.
The preview expires after five minutes. CanYouJust checks the actual records again inside the deletion transaction. Changes, including edits that leave counts unchanged, require another preview. Background activity can also make a preview stale.
Type DELETE CYJ DATA exactly. Confirmation is case-sensitive. The final button is enabled only when the phrase matches; the server also checks it. Any SQL failure rolls back the entire reset.
Factory Reset and the current administrator
Factory Reset / Select Everything selects all eight areas. By default, the current administrator's account and membership survive so they can regain access. Other organisations, the organisation's identity/name/slug, database migration records, provider definitions, the planning version and surviving shared-account preferences remain. IDs are not reseeded.
The separate Include my current administrator option requires a complete Factory Reset and the phrase FACTORY RESET CAN YOU JUST. After the transaction commits, your session is cleared and you are signed out. The organisation has no remaining memberships. Your global account may still exist if another organisation needs it.
Only the browser that performed the reset receives a protected, HttpOnly, one-time setup capability. Complete the new administrator form within 30 minutes. Choose an email address not already registered to another organisation. Public first-run registration is not reopened. This capability restores administrator access only; it cannot restore deleted data. Closing/clearing the browser or allowing the capability to expire requires an installation operator to restore administrator access using their controlled database administration process.
Files and integrations
Reset does not remove configuration files, application binaries, deployment files or the persistent data-protection key ring. No application-owned uploaded business files were found. Cached What If scenarios for this organisation are discarded after success. Provider/User resets also discard its pending provider sign-in grants. Other organisations' cache entries survive. Planning-version conflict checks additionally prevent old baselines being applied. Remote requests already in flight before reset cannot be recalled; stop external activity before performing maintenance if that matters.
