Capacity & people

Leave, appointments and recurring commitments

Why recorded time away changes delivery forecasts and shared availability.

Time away is not spare capacity

Calendar exceptions exclude their recorded intervals. Recurring commitments exclude their repeated weekday/time intervals. The scheduler works around them alongside normal patterns and breaks.

For example, a review requiring Nick and Keith waits for a productive window shared by both. Keith's leave can move that review even when Nick has time available.

Recording absence in this release

Team & capacity edits regular weekly patterns. This release does not include a general absence editor. Ask the workspace administrator to maintain the existing organisation-scoped CalendarException and RecurringCommitment records using the established database maintenance process. Do not edit another person's regular hours as a substitute for one day's leave.

After externally maintained calendar changes, use Check live forecasts in What moved or a project's history to record the new observation. Normal application scheduling edits record history automatically.
